SUSTAINABLE CRAFT

This piece was made using Korhogo cloth, a fabric made by the Senufo people of Korhogo, Ivory Coast, and is one in a collection of sustainably sourced progressive pieces, handmade in Ghana by Ghanaian artisans, specially for you.

The Korhogo fabric is made of pure, organic Malian cotton and natural dyes left to ferment for months. The paintings are done using a specially fermented mud-based and natural vegetal pigment that darkens over time. Designs are then drawn on using a stencil. They are decorated with symbols of humans, and natural elements like the sun, moon, stars, and animals, all of which are rooted in Senufo culture and mythology.

Employing environmentally friendly materials and pursuing new standards in craftsmanship, Threaded Tribes is committed to providing the highest quality, uniquely ethical essentials for your closet. Due to the nature of the fabric, tiny spaces within the seams, an organic scent, or a slight variation in pattern may naturally occur.

This relatively lightweight piece is unisex. Sizing fits XS to 2XL (Across Back - 30 inches, Pit to Pit - 30 inches, Length - 27 inches). For smaller or larger size pick the corresponding option.

It also features inner strings for closure & deep comfortable pockets.

Care
Dry Clean / Air dry

Dry clean, air dry or hand wash.

Mudcloth also known as Bògòlanfini is made of pure, organic Malian cotton and natural dyes left to ferment for months. The ancestral craft of bogolan dates back to the 12th century, each finished cloth telling its own story through symbols, arrangements and colors.

Our Bogolan is sourced in Mali, hand picked by our team for its top notch quality and durability. Because of the natural dying process, slight variations in colour or pattern may occur, making each outfit a unique piece.

All our fabrics are treated to resist dye and keep their natural tones for years.

Threaded Tribes is plastic free and committed to a full re-use of scraps.

This outfit was hand crafted in our Accra workshop using local fabrics with careful water usage and waste management.
