We source Baule in collaboration with a weaving community around Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire. We established the relationship in person years ago and continue to order directly; cloth is delivered in person or via bus to Ghana.
We use Baule to craft a variety of outfits: cloaks, dresses, jackets, ponchos, shirts, skirts and full sets.
As with most traditional fabrics, the sophistication of patterns and colors calls for simple pairing: monochrome tops / pants. Some Baule can however be lighter on the eye and complement with other patterned clothing.
